Coverage by Health Insurance

Planned Krankenfahrten (like dialysis or radiation) must be pre-approved by the health insurance provider unless:

The patient is classified as Pflegegrad 3, 4 or 5

The patient has a severe disability (Merkzeichen aG, Bl, or H)

Emergency transports (Rettungsfahrten) do not need prior approval.

For all those with statutory insurance, a doctor's prescription (form 4) and health insurance approval are required for outpatient journeys
